Beyond Standard Fitting: The Structural Advantage
Unlike standard fitters, our background as building contractors means we look beneath the surface for structural integrity and longevity. A truly luxurious bathroom requires impeccable sub-floor preparation, especially if you are laying heavy natural stone tiles or installing underfloor heating. We handle all the essential structural work, from strengthening floor joists to professional tanking for wet rooms. If your new layout requires removing a wall to expand the space, our expertise seamlessly integrates with our wider home renovations service.
Bespoke Carpentry for Unique Bathroom Spaces
Cheltenham properties often feature awkward alcoves and unique architectural angles. This is where our specialist joinery skills make all the difference. We do not just fit off-the-shelf sanitaryware; we craft bespoke storage solutions that maximise every inch of your room. Imagine a custom-built floating vanity unit that creates the illusion of more floor space, or perfectly positioned recessed niches within your shower enclosure to keep toiletries neatly hidden. You can explore more of our custom woodwork through our bespoke carpentry services.
How Much Disruption Will There Be During Installation?
We know that losing access to your bathroom can be stressful. That is why our fully managed process is designed around minimal disruption to your daily life. Our team takes care of the complete rip-out and safe disposal of your old suite, keeping your home clean and tidy at all times. We carefully coordinate the first-fix plumbing and electrical work before moving onto the meticulous second-fix stage, where your chosen brassware, sanitaryware, and tiling are installed to a flawless finish. You are kept fully informed at every stage of the project.
Restoring Period Bathrooms in Gloucestershire
We cover a fifteen-mile radius of Cheltenham, which takes in Regency townhouses, Listed Buildings and local Conservation Areas such as Montpellier and The Suffolks. We possess a deep understanding of local authority guidelines and Building Regulations. Whether we are undertaking a sympathetic restoration to preserve historic charm or bringing modern plumbing to an older property, we ensure all work is fully compliant and safe. This expertise is also invaluable if you are considering adding an en-suite as part of a loft conversion.

Answers to common questions about our bespoke bathroom renovations and expert fitting services in Cheltenham and across Gloucester, Cheltenham & Gloucestershire.
Why choose DP Carpentry and Building LTD for your bathroom?
+A detailed quote before we start, a tidy site while we work and regular updates throughout.
How long do bespoke bathroom renovations take?
+A complete bathroom refit typically takes between two to three weeks. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of the plumbing, installation, and any custom carpentry required. We always give you a clear schedule before we start.
Do you manage all the plumbing and installation work?
+Yes, we handle every single aspect. Our expert bathroom fitters manage the complete strip-out, all structural alterations, plumbing, electrical work, tiling, and final decoration. You only ever deal with one reliable team.
Can you fit a new bathroom in a period property or listed building?
+Yes. Older homes need extra care with pipe routes and original features. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, we will talk through what is needed before work starts.
What is the difference between a full remodel and a standard refit?
+A refit swaps old fixtures for new ones in the same places. A remodel can change the layout and add built-in storage.
