Orangeries Garden Rooms in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

A lot of people ask us, 'What's the actual difference between an orangery and a conservatory?' It's a great question. Imagine a space that has all the light of a conservatory but the solid feel and warmth of a traditional extension. That's an orangery. By using more brickwork or timber pillars and a stunning central roof lantern, we create a room that stays cosy in the middle of a Gloucestershire winter and stays cool when the summer sun hits. We focus heavily on U-values and thermal efficiency, using high-performance glass so you aren't constantly fiddling with the thermostat. It's about creating the heart of the home where you can actually sit comfortably 365 days a year, not just on the three weeks of the year when the temperature is 'just right'.

Tired of the kitchen table being your makeshift office? Or maybe the kids' toys are slowly taking over your living room? A luxury garden room in your Stonehouse garden could be the escape you've been dreaming of. These aren't just fancy sheds; they are fully insulated, high-spec buildings. A garden room can be a home hair salon, a soundproofed music studio or a peaceful retreat for reading. Because we're carpenters at heart, we love working with materials like Sapele, Idigbo, and Accoya timber to ensure your garden building looks as good as it functions. We handle the whole process from the groundworks up to the final lick of paint, making it a completely turnkey service for you.

We know that the details matter. When we install a roof lantern or a set of bi-fold doors, we're looking at more than just the aesthetics; we're looking at the structural integrity and the finish. Our team takes immense pride in our joinery, ensuring that every pilaster and cornice is fitted with precision. We use premium materials that can handle the unpredictable Gloucestershire weather without warping or rotting. It’s about peace of mind—knowing that your investment is durable and adds genuine value to your property. Plus, we're a tidy bunch. We know there's nothing worse than a building site that feels like a mess, so we make sure to keep your home and garden as neat as possible while we work.

One of the biggest headaches for any homeowner is wondering if they need permission from Stroud District Council. The good news is that many of our orangeries and garden rooms fall under 'Permitted Development,' meaning you might not need full planning permission at all. However, if you're in a conservation area or a listed building, things get a bit more technical. We can help guide you through the regulations, ensuring everything is above board and fully compliant with building regs. We're here to take the stress out of the paperwork so you can focus on choosing the colours and finishes for your new space.
