New Builds in Stroud, Gloucestershire

It's the stuff you don't see that counts most. We handle all your 'first fix' carpentry, which is essentially the backbone of the house. This means your floor joists are level, your roof trusses are rock solid, and your stud walls are positioned exactly where the architect intended. Think of it as the 'shell and core' phase. If these bones aren't right, you'll feel it later in every creaking floorboard or misaligned door frame. We make sure everything is plumb and square from day one, working directly from your architectural drawings to ensure total precision.

This is the part where you finally see the magic happen. 'Second fix' is where our carpentry background really shines through. We're talking about those crisp skirting boards, perfectly hung internal doors, and architraves that meet with millimetre precision. We don't believe in a 'good enough' finish; we aim for a snag-free result that's ready for you to move into immediately. Looking for a bespoke oak staircase or some clever integrated furniture? Since we're carpenters at heart, we can build those custom bits that make a new house feel like a home rather than just another building site.

Building in Stroud isn't always straightforward. Between the steep hills and the specific character of our Cotswold stone towns, there’s a lot to navigate. We build to current Building Regulations, from Part L energy efficiency to Part P electrics. We can handle the project management from the first dig to the final lick of paint. It means you aren't stuck chasing five different tradesmen who aren't talking to each other. Have you ever wondered why some projects stall for months? Usually, it's a lack of coordination, which is why we keep everything under one roof.

We've all heard the horror stories about builders disappearing for weeks or leaving a site looking like a battlefield. At DP Carpentry and Building LTD, we pride ourselves on being the local lads you can actually trust. We provide a clear, itemised quote so you know exactly where your budget is going - no nasty surprises or hidden 'extras' halfway through. It’s about doing a proper job for our community here in Gloucestershire, from Stonehouse to Minchinhampton.
