New Builds in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Building a home that stands out in Cheltenham
There is nothing quite like the feeling of standing on a plot of land and imagining your future home taking shape. Whether you have spent years saving for a self-build or you are a developer looking for a team that treats every house like a masterpiece, we are here to help. Common worries with a new build are flaky contractors, 'snagging' lists that never end, and houses that feel a bit 'cookie-cutter'. At DP Carpentry and Building LTD, we do things differently. We focus on high-spec finishes and a personal touch that you just do not get from the massive national housebuilders.

How it works in three simple steps
First, you tell us about your project. Call us or send a message through the form on this page. A few lines and your postcode is plenty to start.
Next, we come out to see you. We look at the space, listen to what you want and talk through the options. Then you get a detailed quote, so you know exactly where you stand.
Finally, once you are happy, we get to work. We keep you updated as the job goes, keep the site tidy and clean up when we finish.
That's it. No pressure and no jargon. Just clear answers and good work.
Why Choose Our Professional New Build Construction?
Structural integrity with expert first fix carpentry
A great home starts with what is behind the plasterboard. Our first fix carpentry services ensure the 'bones' of your new build are perfect. We handle everything from installing roof trusses and floor joists to erecting stud walls and door linings with absolute precision. Why does this matter? Because if your joists are not level or your stud walls are not square, you will be dealing with squeaky floors and doors that won't shut. We work closely with your architectural drawings to make sure the shell and core of your property are solid, safe, and built to last.
Craftsmanship that defines your living space
Once the structural work is done, it is the second fix carpentry that truly turns a building into a home. This is where our passion for bespoke joinery really shines. Imagine perfectly fitted skirting boards, elegant architraves, and internal doors that click shut with a satisfying weight. We specialise in those high-end finishing touches that add character and value. Whether it is a grand oak staircase or clever integrated storage, we aim for a snag-free finish that looks as good up close as it does from across the room.
Help with Gloucestershire building regulations
Building in Cheltenham comes with its own set of rules, especially if you are working near a conservation area or trying to match the local Regency aesthetic. Do you know if your project meets the latest Part L energy efficiency standards? We do. We have spent years navigating the local planning landscape and building regulations across Gloucestershire. We can manage the entire process, ensuring every stage is signed off by building control so you can sleep soundly knowing your new build is fully compliant and future-proofed.
Bespoke homes tailored to your lifestyle
Every family lives differently, so why should every house be the same? We love working on bespoke homes where we can get creative with the space. Perhaps you want an open-plan kitchen that flows into a garden room, or maybe you need a dedicated home office tucked away in a quiet corner. As carpenters, we can build custom-made elements into your new build that a standard contractor might not offer. From the groundworks to the final coat of paint, we provide a turnkey service that takes the stress out of property development.
Transparent quotes and reliable project management
Nothing kills the excitement of a new build faster than hidden costs appearing halfway through the project. That is why we provide clear, itemised quotes that break down exactly where your money is going. We pride ourselves on being the local tradesmen you can actually talk to. We stay on-site, we keep things tidy, and we stick to the agreed programme. If you are looking for a reliable partner for a project within 15 miles of Cheltenham, you will find our team is as committed to your vision as you are.
