Bespoke Carpentry Services in Cirencester, Gloucestershire
Bespoke Carpentry in Cirencester
Have you ever bought a beautiful piece of furniture only to find it sits inches away from the wall because of a stubborn skirting board or a wonky corner? In Cirencester, our homes are full of character, but that character often comes with walls that aren't quite straight and floors that have a mind of their own. That's where we come in. At DP Carpentry and Building LTD, we don't believe in 'making do' with flat-pack solutions that leave gaps and wasted space. Instead, we create bespoke woodwork that fits your home like a glove, turning those awkward gaps into the most useful parts of your room.

How it works in three simple steps
First, you tell us about your project. Call us or send a message through the form on this page. A few lines and your postcode is plenty to start.
Next, we come out to see you. We look at the space, listen to what you want and talk through the options. Then you get a detailed quote, so you know exactly where you stand.
Finally, once you are happy, we get to work. We keep you updated as the job goes, keep the site tidy and clean up when we finish.
That's it. No pressure and no jargon. Just clear answers and good work.

Why Choose Our Bespoke Carpentry & Custom Joinery?
Crafting solutions for wonky Cotswold walls
If you live in a Regency townhouse or a classic Cotswold stone cottage, you'll know that standard furniture rarely behaves. We specialise in a technique called 'scribing-to-wall,' where we carefully cut and shape our timber to follow the exact, unique profile of your masonry. This means your new fitted wardrobes or alcove units look like they've always been part of the house, rather than just sat against it. Whether it's a structural 1st fix job like new floor joists or the intricate 2nd fix finishing touches of a bespoke library, we handle it all with the same level of care.
Wardrobes designed around your morning routine
Cluttered bedrooms and overflowing drawers are a common frustration. Imagine waking up to a wardrobe that actually has a dedicated spot for everything—from your long coats to that growing shoe collection. Our bespoke wardrobes aren't just boxes with doors; they're floor-to-ceiling storage solutions built to maximise every single millimetre of height. We can work with solid oak for a timeless feel or high-quality MDF that's perfect for a sleek, modern painted finish. You choose the layout, the handles, and the internal lighting, and we'll build it to last.
Turning alcoves into stunning media walls
Those spaces either side of your fireplace are often the most wasted areas in a living room. We love transforming them into beautiful alcove units or full-scale media walls. We can design them with hidden cable management—so you never have to look at a tangled mess of wires again—and even include integrated LED lighting to show off your favourite books or family photos. It’s not just about storage; it's about creating a focal point that makes your lounge feel cozy and complete. Have you considered how a custom-built bookcase could change the whole vibe of your room?
Hidden storage under your stairs
The space under the stairs is usually a dark abyss where vacuum cleaners and old coats go to be forgotten. We can turn that 'dead' space into a series of clever, pull-out drawers or sleek cupboards that glide open at a touch. It's one of the most satisfying projects we do because it instantly declutters your hallway. Whether you need a place for the kids' school bags or a bespoke wine rack, we'll design a solution that looks seamless and keeps your home running smoothly.
Respecting Cirencester's local heritage
Work in Cirencester and the wider Cotswold area often involves listed buildings or properties in conservation areas. We understand the rules and the respect these buildings deserve. We often use traditional materials like Accoya for doors and windows because it's incredibly durable and stands up to the British weather, while still looking authentic. We're not just builders; we're craftsmen who take pride in maintaining the architectural integrity of our local Gloucestershire towns. We’ll even help you navigate the tricky bits of planning if your project needs a bit of structural carpentry.
